Thursday Thoughts

Question:  What was the easiest rule to enforce in your household?

Some Answers:  Saying Grace, saying “please” and “thank you.”

Exodus 20:1-4, 7-9, 12-20

The Ten Commandments (Finally)

Challenge:  How many can we remember together?  And in order!  (we had three out of order, but got all 10, eventually)
Which are the easiest to keep?
Which are the hardest?

Matthew 21:33-46
Parable of the Wicket Tenants

Unpopular story—we don’t know what to do with the people in the story.

Who are we in the parable?

Are we the wicked tenants who would destroy God’s son?

Are we the servants sent into a wicked world?

Are we the landowner who has to protect an investment?

It’s vicious and nasty, doesn’t end in a good way.

We have a full-immersion Baptism scheduled for Sunday.  How do all of these tie together?

Next week’s Readings:

Exodus 32:1-14

Philippians 4:1-9

Matthew 22:1-14

Question to ponder:  What is the best invitation you’ve ever received?
